About

APALT Pty Ltd – Established in 2015

There was an obvious need for specialist technical and project management consultancy in Private & Public companies as well as NSW Government Agencies.
APALT offers specialised Project Management (PM) support in being capable of providing exclusive services related to road construction involving earthworks, pavement and bituminous courses.
APALT can provide consultancy services in building and diversification of businesses. This often involves the provision of vision, guidance and advice on expanding the business into other areas of construction materials and establishing NATA Accredited Laboratories.
APALT is head-officed in Wollongong, centrally located in the CBD, where administration is maintained to the highest level. Technology allows us to work with clients across NSW and beyond so our location doesn’t impede our ability to service clients outside the Illawarra.
APALT is able to operate independently or with other Contractors to meet the needs and requirements of each project. This collaboration would deliver specialist skills and knowledge in both Construction Materials & Engineering.

How we work

With offices in Sydney and Wollongong, APALT is well equipped to handle your needs. We stress the importance of our location not impeding our ability to handle work across NSW, the ACT and beyond.

Your relationship with APALT is direct to a hands-on Director who is backed up with an administration support team.

Our client service procedures encourage regular WIP meetings. Between meetings, regular follow up via email and phone will keep you abreast of developments and ensure you are kept fully briefed on the work we are undertaking for you. Detailed WIP reports and action plans are part of our client service process.

Utilising APALT as your consultancy will ensure preconceptions can be challenged, assumptions will not be accepted without justification, ‘perceived wisdom’ will be contested.

Technical Skills

Ross is an extremely skilled and experienced exponent of delivering interpretations and advice of text results, with over 35 years’ experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT). This includes sampling and testing, reporting and then value adding to the process by providing clear interpretation, precise advice, then identifying root cause and mode of failure.

Ross has been a NATA Signatory since 1986. Ross became a NATA Assessor in 1994, and is still actively involved with NATA in his capacity as An Assessor, Mentor and consultant.

Being competent in interpretation and advice, is not simply related to performing the tests. Knowledge of the background or origin of the test, provides an insight into why the testing is necessary and why such properties need to be assessed. Testing is not just about obtaining results for conformance, it is paramount to the overall performance of the material within the structure.

Be it concrete in a bridge beam, sub-base in a pavement, aggregate within asphalt or the plasticity of a subgrade material; these properties and their respective results need to be clearly comprehended, categorised, analysed and assessed. This is where APALT has advantages over its competitors.
